Traditional maintenance programs have relied on past practice and experience and manufacturer’s recommendations to identify maintenance needs.

Where more formal risk based assessments have been performed, organisations struggle with the delivery of the outcomes and the failure rate of initiatives is high. This conference reviewed the aims and objectives of risk based maintenance needs analysis programs. Common challenges of these programs were discussed by our guest speakers. A balanced approach to maintenance needs analysis was also proposed and presented.
